Iron Review: Taylor Made Burner Tour
by John Kim
Taylor Made Burner Tour – Very nice clubs, both in design and performance. Definitely designed for better players, these clubs can do all that you ask them to, but you have to do your part. Want to hook it 30 yards around that irritating tree? No problem. Knock-downs and high floaters are also available. But a mis-hit can hurt your hands and your score. Don't look to these clubs to forgive your bad swings, but they will reward your good ones.
The Good: Nice set up, clean and sleek looking. Bubble shafts provide even added confidence. Clubs provide nice feedback on all hits and finesse shots are easier with these than almost any other irons I've hit.
The Bad: Bad shots will get bad to very bad results. Small sweetspots provide harsh rewards for bad swings.
Overall: If you've got a little game, you could do a lot worse than these sticks. A few of my close friends play these irons and they could have their pick of any clubs they want. If you've got a good swing, these can take you to the next level of play.
